Job summary

Monash Special Developmental School (Monash SDS) seeks an experienced classroom teacher to join a Victorian Government specialist school community in Wheelers Hill, Melbourne. The role focuses on delivering high-quality programs for students with moderate to profound intellectual disability and complex needs.

You will collaborate with families, allied health professionals and staff, using structured teaching methods, SWPBS and a Victorian Curriculum-based approach.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated commitment to inclusive education and supporting students with complex needs.
• Ability to work collaboratively with families, allied health professionals and school staff.
• Experience using data to inform teaching practice and monitor student progress.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students.
• Contribute to development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum within school priorities.
• Undertake organisational duties and participate in parent/teacher meetings and school activities.
• Mentor and supervise student teachers as appropriate.
