Job summary

Diamond Valley Special Developmental School in Greensborough, Victoria is seeking a classroom teacher to plan, prepare and deliver engaging programs for diverse learners with intellectual disability. Range 1 and Range 2 positions involve teaching a range of students, contributing to school priorities and mentoring student teachers, with additional duties as required

Qualifications

• SC1: Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum and the ability to incorporate literacy and numeracy.
• SC2: Experience planning high impact teaching strategies and evaluating learning growth.
• SC3: Experience monitoring and assessing student learning and using data to inform teaching.
• SC4: Interpersonal and communication skills; ability to collaborate with students, parents, colleagues and the wider school community.
• SC5: Behaviours aligned with Department values and commitment to professional learning.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups and individual students and program planning.
• Contribute to curriculum development and evaluation within the school.
• Undertake other classroom teaching related duties as determined by the School Principal.
• Participate in parent/teacher meetings and school activities; support wellbeing and engagement.
• Engage in ongoing professional learning and reflective practice.
