Job summary

Monash Special Developmental School (Monash SDS) in Melbourne's south-east seeks an Education Support Class staff member to assist teachers, support student routines and participate in inclusive, evidence-based practice. This fulltime role focuses on students with complex learning needs across Early Years to Secondary stages.

Qualifications

• Experience undertaking routine support tasks in school settings.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, families and staff.
• Proficiency with office systems and school software.
• Capacity to work cooperatively with teachers, ES staff and parents.

• Demonstrates perseverance, collaboration and improvement focus.

Responsibilities

• Provides routine support for teachers and students as directed.
• Supports planning of student routines and classroom activities.
• Assists with communication between teachers and parents.
• Provides basic physical care and wellbeing support for students.
• Supervises and supports small groups of students in class.
• Coordinates support tasks and assists in educational programs.
• Assists with documenting student outcomes and classroom data.
• Supports delivery of AUSLAN and other communication supports.
