Job summary

Gateways Support Services in Port Fairy, VIC, is seeking an Inclusion Support Additional Assistant to help Educators support children's early education journeys, including those with disabilities and higher support needs. This permanent part-time role runs during school term time only, with hours: Tuesday 9:30am–1:30pm and Thursday 9:30am–1:30pm (8 hours per week), based in Port Fairy.

Qualifications

• Enthusiasm, patience, and a genuine interest in supporting children of all abilities.
• Passion for connecting with young children, keeping them engaged in play-based learning, and celebrating growth.
• Working with Children Check & completion of the National Child Safety Training (or willingness to obtain).
• Relevant qualification - not required, but it will attract a higher hourly rate.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to problem solve.
• Strong emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work cohesively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Support Educators by implementing behaviour management plans and individual strategies tailored to each child.
• Work collaboratively with the education team, modelling a consistent and positive approach.
• Create an inclusive, supportive environment for all children and engage them through play.
• Access funded training and professional development opportunities to build skills in inclusive education.
