Job summary

Egis is seeking a dedicated Incident Response Crew Member in Sydney to join its critical transport network operations. You will respond to motorway incidents, assist motorists, operate response and recovery vehicles, and coordinate with MCC Operators and emergency services.

Positions are full time and permanent, on a rotating roster providing 24/7 coverage across interconnected motorways. Valid MR license and NSW tow truck certification required; pre-employment checks apply.

Qualifications

• Practical problem-solving skills and a strong customer and results focus.
• Ability to communicate clearly with the control room, emergency services and members of the public.
• Thorough understanding of and commitment to WHS and environmental requirements.
• Current unrestricted MR driver’s licence and NSW tow truck driver certification.

Job Description

The Incident Response Crew Members provide the initial response to motorway incidents as directed by the Motorway Control Centre (MCC) Operators.

The role assists motorists, operates response and recovery vehicles and equipment, implements traffic controls and supports the safe clearance of incidents in coordination with the control room and emergency services.

Positions are full time and permanent, working on a rotating shift roster pattern providing coverage 24 hours a day, seven days a week across the network of interconnected assets and motorways.

Qualifications

• Practical problem-solving skills and a strong customer and results focus.

• Ability to communicate clearly with the control room, emergency services and members of the public.

• Thorough understanding of and commitment to WHS and environmental requirements.

• Current unrestricted MR driver’s licence and NSW tow truck driver certification.

Mandatory training and certifications

• Construction White Card;

• Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS);

• Manual handling;

• First Aid inclusive of defibrillator use, Low Voltage Rescue (LVR) and CPR.

• Confined Space Awareness with breathing apparatus;

• Hazardous Materials Awareness and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).

• Traffic Controller; Implement Traffic Control Plans.

• General Evacuation and First Response; major emergency exercises and incident response preparedness; coordination of breakdowns and emergencies;

• Demonstrated use of electronic communication systems.

• Road Sweeper Operation; Towing and Incident Management.

• Specialist Fire Training.

• Manage Personal Stressors in the Work Environment;

• Apply Fatigue Management Strategies.

Highly desirable:

• 5 years clean driving history record.
