Job summary

Change for Youth Foundation is seeking a Learning Support Mentor to work one-on-one with young people in out-of-home care across Queensland. The Empower Youth Program focuses on literacy, numeracy, confidence, and school engagement, delivered weekly in home settings.

Role requires youth-work experience or study in education/psychology with strong maths and literacy skills, plus trauma-informed training and consistent session reporting to schools, carers, and managers.

Qualifications

• Youth worker experience or a student in education/psychology with strong maths and literacy skills.
• Experience working with children in care or education settings is preferred.
• Capability to mentor in maths and literacy up to Year 12.

Responsibilities

• Deliver one-on-one learning support sessions weekly in home settings.
• Provide real-time weekly reporting to teachers, carers, and program managers.
• Participate in fortnightly supervision with the program manager.
• Maintain confidentiality and build positive relationships with young people and carers.
