Job summary

NSW Department of Communities and Justice in Tabulam is seeking an Aboriginal Residential Centre Supervisor to lead staff, coordinate daily operations, and support resident case management within the Balund-a Program. The role is a temporary full-time position until November 2028 and open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people only.

The successful candidate will maintain safety, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and build strong relationships with communities and stakeholders

Qualifications

• Demonstrated cultural capability and knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
• Experience with case management or human services preferred.
• Understanding of the criminal justice system.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support staff to ensure effective program delivery and resident case management.
• Maintain a safe environment for staff, residents, and visitors.
• Monitor staff performance to prioritise resident welfare and incident follow-up.
• Coordinate daily schedules and duties, informing staff of resident needs.
• Manage portfolios supporting Centre daily operations.
• Assist multidisciplinary teams, complete required training, co-facilitate programs, and supervise community access.
• Build relationships with government and non-government partners to meet requirements.
• Provide timely advice and reports to support management decisions.
• Strengthen ties with Aboriginal communities and stakeholders to support delivery.
