Job summary

Centacare NENW seeks a part-time Aboriginal Liaison Officer to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients, providing culturally safe access to services across Tamworth or Armidale. You will work 22.5 hours per week in a wrap‑around support role within the Family Wellbeing & Justice portfolio.

Qualifications include a Certificate IV or higher in Community Services or related field, with experience in group programs, referrals, and community engagement.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV or higher in Community Services, Social Work, Aboriginal Health or related field.
• Experience supporting group programs or workshops.
• Experience assisting clients to access government/community services.
• Experience contributing to community engagement activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide culturally appropriate support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients
• Assist clients to navigate services through information, advocacy, and referrals
• Build relationships with local Elders, community members and ACCOs
• Maintain accurate client records and documentation
• Support staff to strengthen culturally safe practice across programs
• Participate in community events, consultations and partnership activities
