Job summary

The Australian Migrant Resource Centre (AMRC) seeks a finance officer to join the Adelaide office and support the Finance Team in day-to-day bookkeeping, payroll and reporting.

You'll work in a small team, handle accounts payable/receivable, payroll spreadsheets, and assist the Senior Finance Manager with compliance, records management and programwide financial reporting.

Desirable experience with not-for-profit funding, strong MYOB skills and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Desirable degree/ diploma in finance/ accounting/ business administration
• Proficient in MYOB accounting software and Microsoft Office
• Strong data analysis and good attention to details
• Good people-oriented skills to facilitate work in a multicultural environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to manage documents effectively
• Work collaboratively and flexibly to effective time management
• A current federal police clearance, DHS Check or relevant screening as per program compliance
• Previous experience in a finance, accounts or financial administration role is preferred
• Experience with not-for-profit organisations and government-funded programs is advantageous

Responsibilities

• Responsible for bookkeeping, including processing invoices, monitoring bank deposits and payments and liaising with suppliers
• Responsible for preparing payroll spreadsheets, leave entitlements and other payroll-related matters
• Assist the Finance Coordinator with payroll processing
• Ensure financial records are compliant and kept up to date
• Prepare various financial reports as directed by the Senior Finance Manager
• Update and maintain the staff entitlement accruals and holiday spreadsheet for management reporting
• Update and maintain the financial records for management reporting
• Ensure all documentation is managed in accordance with the Privacy Act
• Proactive in continuous professional development within the scope of work
• Other activities as may be directed
