Job summary

Sureway Employment is seeking an Employment Consultant to support participants in Victoria to take ownership of their journey to work. You will build relationships, identify opportunities, and connect participants with employers while focusing on participants with disabilities.

You don’t need direct industry experience, but curiosity, initiative, and strong relationship-building are essential. You will manage your caseload, engage with local employers, and help participants grow confidence and

Qualifications

• Self-motivated and proactive with strong time-management.
• Excellent communication and rapport-building with diverse participants.
• Commercial awareness to understand employer needs and promote candidates.
• Curious, prepared, and quick to learn in community settings.
• Transferable skills from sales, recruitment, customer service, or community services.
• Resilient and solutions-focused when plans change.
• Organised and accountable with attention to records and progress.

Responsibilities

• Work one-on-one with participants to set employment goals and action plans.
• Actively build relationships with local employers to create job opportunities.
• Promote participants’ strengths and match them to suitable roles.
• Support participants before and after placement to ensure sustainable employment.
• Identify barriers and coordinate support services or training where needed.
• Manage your own caseload, priorities, and follow-ups to keep things moving.
• Maintain accurate records and meet program compliance requirements.
• Represent Sureway in the local community to build awareness and connections.
