Job summary

Sureway Bathurst is seeking an Employment Consultant to support participants in taking ownership of their journey to work. You’ll build relationships with participants and local employers, identify opportunities and connect people with employers, including supporting those with a disability.

This role requires curiosity, proactivity, and the ability to stay organised and resilient as you manage your caseload and advocate for sustainable employment.

Qualifications

• Self-motivated and proactive, able to take ownership without close supervision.
• Strong communicator who builds rapport quickly and adapts to different people.
• Commercially aware with ability to understand employer needs and articulate value.
• Curious and prepared, eager to learn about roles, the sector, and people you work with.
• Transferable skills from sales, recruitment, customer service, or community services that apply to outcomes.
• Resilient and solutions-focused, maintains momentum when plans change.
• Organised and accountable, manages competing priorities and accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Working one-on-one with participants to set clear employment goals and action plans
• Actively building relationships with local employers to create job opportunities
• Promoting participants’ strengths and matching them to suitable roles
• Supporting participants before and after placement to ensure sustainable employment
• Identifying barriers and coordinating support services or training where needed
• Managing your own caseload, priorities, and follow-ups to keep things moving
• Maintaining accurate records and meeting program compliance requirements
• Representing Sureway in the local community to build awareness and connections
