Job summary

The Department of Education of Victoria invites applications for a classroom teacher role in state schools. You will plan, prepare and deliver programs to achieve specified student outcomes, including tailoring instruction to diverse learners and contributing to school improvement priorities.

You will collaborate with parents and colleagues, use data to inform teaching practice and reflect on your work to continually improve literacy and numeracy achievement in line with Department values.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum with literacy and numeracy integration.
• Experience planning high-impact teaching strategies and evaluating learning growth.
• Experience monitoring and assessing learning and providing feedback to students/parents.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills in collaborating with students, parents, colleagues and community.
• Commitment to department values and engaging in ongoing professional learning.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups and individual students.
• Contribute to development and evaluation of curriculum or programs.
• Undertake classroom teaching duties and related organisational tasks as directed.
• Participate in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
• Undertake other non-teaching supervisory duties as required.
