Job summary

Interrelate in Lismore is seeking an Assistant Coordinator for the Children’s Contact Service to support service delivery, quality management and safe, child-focused practice. You will work with a team to supervise contact visits, manage changeovers, and support case management within a collaborative, community-focused environment.

The role requires a relevant degree, experience with families and children, and a current First Aid certificate or the ability to obtain one within the first month.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counselling or related discipline.
• Experience working with families and children experiencing separation or family breakdown is preferred.
• Knowledge of child development, child protection and family violence is important.
• Ability to provide culturally appropriate support to diverse communities including First Nations, LGBTQIA+ and CALD families.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of the CCS within the service delivery schedule and budget.
• Assist CCS staff with quality observation, report writing and note taking; provide training as needed.
• Prepare staff rosters and schedule contact visits and changeovers.
• Contribute to case management discussions to support wrap-around services.
• Conduct supervised visits and changeovers when required.
• Respond to information requests from court and authorities, including subpoenas.
• Promote the service within the community and maintain safety procedures.
