Job summary

Youi Insurance in Brisbane, Australia, is seeking an actuary or pricing professional who combines technical modelling with commercial insight to shape pricing and underwriting decisions. You will analyse portfolio performance, test assumptions and partner with underwriters and product teams to turn data into actions that drive profitable growth.

You'll work with large data sets, identify patterns, and balance customer outcomes with risk and financial performance.

Qualifications

• Experience in actuarial, pricing, general insurance, underwriting or analytical roles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with the ability to draw insights from complex datasets.
• Experience using statistical modelling and data analysis tools such as R, SAS, SQL or similar.
• Ability to balance technical analysis with commercial decision-making.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Progress towards or completion of actuarial qualifications will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring Home portfolio performance and investigating movements in risk, pricing and underwriting results.
• Identifying trends and recommending changes to pricing, rating and underwriting approaches.
• Building and refining statistical models that support pricing decisions and portfolio strategy.
• Preparing, validating and analysing data using actuarial and modelling tools such as SAS and R.
• Supporting enhancements to pricing and underwriting systems and rating engine functionality.
• Working with underwriters, product teams and business leaders to turn data insights into practical actions.
