Job summary

Youi Insurance in Australia is seeking an experienced actuarial professional to influence pricing, underwriting and portfolio performance. You will deeply analyze data, identify drivers, and drive recommendations from initial analysis through to implementation and monitoring.

This hands-on role involves collaborating across Product, Marketing, and Operations, challenging assumptions, and turning insights into clear, actionable outcomes. A hybrid in-office schedule applies.

Qualifications

• Several years of actuarial experience, ideally within general insurance, pricing or a similarly analytical commercial environment.
• Strong Excel, SAS and SQL capability and confidence working directly with large datasets.
• Ability to work through an ambiguous problem and turn analysis into recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Analyse portfolio and underwriting performance to identify emerging trends, risks and opportunities.
• Use Excel, SQL and actuarial techniques to investigate complex business problems and develop actionable recommendations.
• Support pricing initiatives through analysis, modelling and commercial recommendations.
• Test and implement pricing and underwriting changes with operational teams.
• Work with stakeholders across Product, Marketing, Operations and Actuarial to translate analysis into clear recommendations.
• Improve tools, reporting and processes to aid decision making.
