Job summary

Calvary Mater Newcastle is hiring an Intensive Care Technician to provide safe patient transport and support in the ICU. You will assist with lifting, positioning and transfers, and maintain ventilators, dialysis machines, and other medical equipment.

Salary is hourly with superannuation, annual leave loading, and salary packaging options. Experience in direct patient care, patient transfers, and equipment maintenance is required, along with strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Experience with direct personal care of patients including lifting and positioning.
• Experience with transfer of patients between wards and to diagnostic radiography (CT/MRI).
• Recent experience in care and maintenance of ventilators and dialysis machines.
• Demonstrated communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide high standard of safe and courteous patient transport and support.
• Maintain and clean ventilators and other equipment; manage stock in ICU.
• Assist with lifting, positioning and transfer of patients between wards and to radiography.
• Maintain stock levels within the Intensive Care Unit.
