Job summary

Ransford College PLC is seeking an ICT Support and Test Engineer in Melbourne to ensure reliable ICT operations across the college. You will resolve incidents, test changes, enhance performance and manage documentation and assets.

The role combines hands-on hardware/software support with rigorous testing and project involvement in a dynamic education environment. A relevant ICT qualification and experience are required, with a focus on security and disaster recovery.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of ICT systems, hardware, OS, networks and software applications.
• Advanced troubleshooting and technical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to diagnose complex system, network, hardware and software faults.
• Knowledge of testing methodologies for systems and applications.
• Ability to prepare and execute test plans, test cases and procedures.
• Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and network configuration.
• Experience with user-account administration and access-control.
• Understanding of cloud-based ICT environments.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity, backups and disaster-recovery practices.
• Relevant qualification plus professional experience in ICT.

Responsibilities

• Analyse, diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, network, system and app issues.
• Provide advanced support for desktops, laptops, printers, servers and network equipment.
• Investigate recurring ICT faults and implement corrective solutions.
• Install, configure, maintain and support hardware, OS, software and ICT infrastructure.
• Monitor systems to identify performance, availability and security issues.
• Test new/modified systems and changes before implementation.
• Develop and execute test plans and test cases.
• Document testing outcomes and coordinate corrective actions.
• Maintain system configurations, documentation and asset records.
• Participate in ICT projects and infrastructure upgrades.
