Job summary

Berendsen Fluid Power in Newcastle is seeking a skilled Hydraulic Fitter to join our workshop team. You will perform hydraulic cylinder repairs and service a broad industrial customer base, ensuring high-quality workmanship with strict safety practices.

To be considered, you should hold a trade certificate in Fitting & Machining or related field, have hands-on hydraulic experience, a valid Australian driver’s license, and a proven ability to diagnose faults accurately while working well both

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with hydraulic cylinder repairs and/or hydraulic systems.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability.
• Reliable, safety-conscious and takes pride in quality workmanship.
• Trade certificate in Fitting & Machining, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Valid Australian driver’s licence.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out hydraulic cylinder repairs, rebuilds, and reconditioning to a high standard.
• Diagnose faults and assess hydraulic components for repair or replacement.
• Assemble and test hydraulic hose and fittings assemblies.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used.
• Adhere to workshop safety procedures and housekeeping standards.
• Support the broader workshop team with day-to-day operations as required.
