Job summary

Berendsen Fluid Power in Newcastle is seeking a skilled Hydraulic Fitter to join the workshop team. This hands-on role focuses on high-quality cylinder repairs and hydraulic services for a broad industrial customer base.

Trade-qualified candidates who take pride in their workmanship are encouraged to apply. You will carry out repairs, diagnose faults, assemble hose and fittings, and maintain thorough records while upholding safety procedures and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Trade certificate in Fitting & Machining, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Hands-on experience with hydraulic cylinder repairs and/or hydraulic systems.
• Valid Australian driver’s licence.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability.
• Reliable, safety-conscious and takes pride in quality workmanship.
• Able to work effectively both independently & as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out hydraulic cylinder repairs, rebuilds and reconditioning to a high standard.
• Diagnose faults and assess hydraulic components for repair or replacement.
• Assemble and test hydraulic hose and fittings assemblies.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used.
• Adhere to workshop safety procedures and housekeeping standards.
• Support the broader workshop team with day-to-day operations as required.
