Job summary

Maspro Engineering is seeking a hands-on Fitter at our Wetherill Park facility to assemble and fit hydraulic cylinders and mining components. You will read drawings and specifications, follow procedures, and ensure safe, high-quality production.

You will work with hydraulic presses, torque wrenches and a range of tools, maintaining a clean workspace and contributing to a collaborative team environment focused on safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Hands-on workshop experience with fitting and mechanical assembly.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings or workshop drawings.
• Safe work practices with attention to quality and detail.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and fit hydraulic cylinders and other mining components from drawings.
• Read and follow engineering drawings, specifications and job requirements.
• Inspect work at various stages to ensure quality standards are met.
• Use hydraulic presses, torque wrenches, power tools and hand tools.
• Identify faults or damaged components and raise them as needed.
• Complete job sheets, quality checks and production records.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and adhere to safety procedures.
• Collaborate with supervisor and teammates to keep production moving.
• Speak up with ideas for better, safer, or more efficient processes.

The Role:

Based at our Wetherill Park facility, this hands-on Fitter role will see you working as part of our manufacturing and assembly team.

You’ll assembly and fit hydraulic cylinders and other mining components, working from drawings and specifications to make sure every job is completed safely and to a high standard.

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their workmanship, enjoys problem-solving, knows their way around a workshop and enjoys being part of a team producing quality Australian-made products.

Key responsibilities include:

• - Assemble and fit hydraulic cylinders and other mining components.
• - Read and work from engineering drawings, specifications and job requirements.
• - Inspect and check your work throughout the assembly process to make sure components meet our quality standards.
• - Use workshop equipment and tools including hydraulic presses, torque wrenches, power tools and hand tools.
• - Identify and raise any faults, damaged components or issues that could affect the finished product.
• - Complete job sheets, quality checks and other required production records.
• - Keep your work area, tools and equipment safe, clean and ready for use.
• - Work safely and look out for the people around you.
• - Work with your supervisor and teammates to keep jobs moving and meet production requirements.
• - Speak up when you see a better, safer or more efficient way of doing something.

We’re looking for someone with:

• - Fitting, mechanical assembly or similar hands-on workshop experience
• - The ability to read and interpret engineering or workshop drawings.
• - Experience using hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment.
• - Experience with heavy industrial, mining or hydraulic components would be highly regarded.
• - Good mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills.
• - Strong attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work.
• - A reliable approach to work and a willingness to pitch in when needed.
• - The ability to follow instructions and work well as part of a team.
• - The physical capability to safely undertake the hands-on requirements of the role.
