Job summary

Transport for NSW in Sydney, NSW, is seeking a highly organised information access professional. You will manage access applications and disclosures under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 and related privacy laws to help the organisation meet its statutory obligations.

Working with applicants, internal teams and external stakeholders, you will provide guidance, draft determinations, and maintain records.

Qualifications

Knowledge of information access and privacy legislation (GIPA Act, Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act, HRI Act)
Strong research, analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality correspondence and guidance
Discretion and ability to handle confidential information, with sound judgement in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

Manage access applications and information disclosures under NSW privacy laws.
Coordinate information access decision-making with applicants, internal teams, and external stakeholders.
Prepare high-quality correspondence, draft determinations, and maintain records/reporting on access and privacy matters.
Contribute to legislative advice, research and case law analysis to support informed decisions.
