Job summary

The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) is seeking a Senior Information Access and Privacy Officer to join the Information Access and Privacy team in Parramatta.

You will provide expert advice on information access and privacy, support compliance across the department, and handle complex access applications under GIPA Act and privacy issues under PPIP and Health Records laws.

Qualifications

• High level analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building abilities.
• Ability to work autonomously and meet critical deadlines.
• Experience interpreting and providing advice on legislation (GIPA/PPIP/Health Records acts).

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist advice on information access and privacy under NSW legislation.
• Make decisions on access to information under the GIPA Act.
• Respond to privacy breaches under PPIP Act and Health Records and Privacy Act.
• Assist with staff training and continuous improvement projects.
