Job summary
SMEC, a global multi-discipline engineering consultancy, seeks an Associate Electrical Engineer to join the Rail team in Sydney. You will design and deliver electrical systems for rail projects, including LV/HV, earthing and bonding, from concept to construction. The role requires 8+ years' experience, a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, and strong knowledge of Australian codes.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, PowerCAD, and related tools is essential. CPEng is favorable.
Qualifications
- 8+ years’ industry experience in electrical engineering.
- Experience preparing detailed electrical design documentation for rail/transport.
- Strong knowledge of Australian codes and standards.
- Proficient with AutoCAD/Revit/PowerCAD and related tools.
- CPEng is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Design and delivery of lighting, low voltage, high voltage, earthing and bonding for rail projects.
- Produce drawings, reports, specifications and tender packages from prelim through construction.
- Conduct feasibility studies, load calculations and site inspections.
- Review electrical designs to meet standards and client/SMEC requirements.
- Prepare engineering reports and tender proposals.
- Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to ensure quality and timely delivery.
