Wingecarribee Shire Council – Moss Vale NSW is seeking a Network System Administrator to safeguard and optimize the ICT infrastructure across the organisation. You will administer, monitor and maintain networks, servers, storage and cloud services, ensuring security, reliability and high availability for staff and community.

Essential experience includes Windows Server, Active Directory, 365, Entra ID, and automation via PowerShell, with a focus on change management, patching and disaster

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in information technology, networking or systems administration, and/or substantial relevant experience in enterprise infrastructure operations.
• Demonstrated experience administering network infrastructure, including switches, routers, VLANs, wireless networking, firewalls, secure remote access and network monitoring.
• Demonstrated experience administering Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file services, print services, certificate-based services, physical servers, enterprise storage and virtualisation platforms such as VMware.
• Demonstrated experience administering Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID and integrated on-premises and cloud identity services.
• Demonstrated experience applying change-management practices, including planning, testing, risk assessment, rollback arrangements, documentation and verification.
• Maintain operating system, application, firmware and infrastructure patching, vulnerability remediation and system lifecycle activities.
• Demonstrated experience administering backup and recovery platforms, investigating failures and performing documented system and data restoration testing.
• Demonstrated experience using PowerShell or comparable scripting and automation technologies to administer infrastructure and improve operational efficiency.
• Demonstrated troubleshooting, problem-solving and communication skills, including the ability to manage competing operational priorities, restore services within required timeframes, and clearly communicate technical issues, service impacts and recommended actions.

Responsabilités

• Administer, monitor and maintain Council's physical, virtual and cloud-based environments, including networks, servers, storage, Microsoft 365, identity and access management systems, firewalls, wireless networks, backup solutions and supporting infrastructure services.
• Provide technical support, troubleshoot complex issues, implement system upgrades and patches, manage backups and disaster recovery processes, and contribute to the ongoing performance and security of Council's technology environment.
• Support continuous improvement of ICT systems through automation, proactive monitoring and cyber security best practices.
