Job summary

Nearmap is seeking an experienced Solutions Engineer in Sydney to act as a trusted technical advisor across the full customer lifecycle. You’ll lead discovery, design tailored demos, and drive value from Nearmap’s Imagery, 3D and AI products.

You’ll collaborate with Sales to engage executives and technical teams, architect solutions, and guide adoption post-sale. The role requires strong API, Python, and GIS platform fluency, plus excellent communication and presentation skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with geospatial exposure.
3-5 years in a customer-facing technical role with a pre-sales track record.
Proven ability to influence technical buying decisions and drive customer success.
Domain expertise in Engineering, Construction, Property, or Geospatial sectors.

Responsibilities

Lead strategic discovery engagements to understand workflows, data ecosystems and business challenges.
Act as a trusted advisor, shaping client strategy and building executive relationships across pre-sales, implementation and post-sales.
Design and deliver tailored demos and scalable demonstrations showing Nearmap solutions.
Identify upsell opportunities and advise on API, offline product, and custom applications.
Lead integration and onboarding for new customers with hands-on technical support.
Coordinate with Product and Engineering to surface feedback and gaps.
Represent Nearmap as a thought leader through content, webinars, and events.
