Job summary

Tyro Payments is seeking a Fraud Officer to join our Payments Risk team and help identify, investigate and respond to potential fraudulent activity. This Monday–Friday role includes a rotating after-hours on-call roster to support high-risk escalations from Customer Support.

You will work with internal teams and external partners to manage fraud referrals and improve controls. The role offers hybrid work with a mix of in-office and remote days and opportunities to grow with a fast-paced,

Qualifications

• Experience in acquiring and/or fraud operations or strong understanding of acquiring context
• Solid understanding of card payments mechanics
• Proficient in MS Office and related systems for merchant assessment and monitoring

Responsibilities

• Manage fraud referrals from merchant acquiring and transaction account products.
• Maintain ongoing communication with colleagues, fraud practitioners, and law enforcement.
• Raise Suspicious Matter Reports as required.
• Participate in Risk Management projects as needed.
• Provide on-call assistance for Fraud queries outside business hours.
• Support fraud prevention and detection activities and identify control improvements.
• Assist with information requests from law enforcement and industry bodies.
• Contribute to process improvements to reduce fraud losses.
