Placements24 is seeking a vigilant Fraud Analyst to join our financial operations team in Queenstown. You will detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent activities across transactions and platforms, using analytical tools to identify patterns and mitigate losses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Criminology, Data Science, or a related field.
• Experience in fraud analysis, risk management, or a similar role within the financial or e-commerce industry.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques; experience with SQL is advantageous.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and case management.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor real-time transaction data to identify and flag potentially fraudulent activities.
• Investigate suspected fraud cases, gather evidence, and document findings thoroughly.
• Utilize fraud detection tools and analytical techniques to assess risk and identify emerging fraud trends.
• Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., customer service, operations) and external agencies to resolve fraud cases.
• Develop and recommend improvements to fraud prevention strategies and systems.
• Prepare regular reports on fraud trends, detection rates, and loss prevention efforts.
