Job summary

Verra Mobility, a global leader in smart mobility, is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join the SaaS Operations Support team in South Melbourne. You will operate and improve AWS-hosted SaaS platforms, strengthen automation and deployment capabilities, and support Kubernetes environments.

This hands-on role involves production ownership, incident response, and collaboration with engineering, product and support teams in an agile environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering or a similar role.
• Strong hands-on AWS experience within production environments.
• Practical experience with Kubernetes, ideally Amazon EKS.
• Strong Infrastructure as Code capability using Terraform, CloudFormation or similar.
• Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines.
• Scripting capability using Shell, Python or PowerShell.
• A sound understanding of networking, cloud security, IAM and infrastructure fundamentals.
• Experience supporting highly available, customer-facing or SaaS platforms.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work effectively during production incidents.

Responsibilities

• Build, operate and improve AWS infrastructure across services including EKS, EC2, RDS, Lambda, IAM, S3 and Route 53.
• Manage Kubernetes workloads and the EKS platform lifecycle, including upgrades, deployments, troubleshooting and operational stability.
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions and Bamboo.
• Develop and maintain reusable Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation or similar technologies.
• Monitor platform performance and availability using New Relic, Prometheus and Grafana.
• Lead and support P1/P2 production incident response, root cause analysis and preventative actions.
• Contribute to platform reliability, automation, scalability, security and operational improvement initiatives.
• Work closely with engineering, product and support teams within an agile delivery environment.
• Participate in the DevOps on-call roster, providing out-of-hours support for critical production incidents.
