Job summary

AGL is hiring a Data Analyst in Melbourne to drive analytics and insights for the Electrification & Innovation team. You’ll build and maintain dashboards, transform data, and develop customer behavioural models to guide business decisions.

Reporting into the Data Product Manager, you’ll support data analysis, reporting, operations, and data engineering across E&I. Hybrid work options are available, with a focus on turning data into actionable insights.

Qualifications

• Four or more years' of experience working in a data role.
• Degree in Engineering, Computer or Data Science, Mathematics or a related field.
• Coding expertise in languages such as SQL and Python.
• Proficient in data visualisation tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
• Experience with building data pipelines and conducting data transformation.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to build credibility, navigate competing priorities and proactively shape strategic business decisions through data-driven insights and recommendations.
• Curiosity and a passion for understanding customer behaviour and energy product interaction through data.
• Experience using data management system platforms, particularly integrated with Azure such as Databricks.
• Ability to independently work across several projects simultaneously, managing stakeholders directly with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Manage the development and delivery of data, data visualisation, and insights projects contributing to E&I growth, operational efficiency, and enabling data-informed decision making.
• Apply deep analysis to uncover how our customers interact with E&I offerings and where the opportunities to maximise both AGL and customer value are.
• Design, build and maintain reliable data pipelines and transformations from a variety of sources.
• Dashboard design and visualising program performance through data.
• Build customer behavioural data models to support business decision-making.
• Finding proactive opportunities to join insights to business outcomes.
• Work closely with stakeholders such as Business Analysts and Product Owners across E&I who may have a range of ad hoc requests through to larger analytics related projects.
• Partner with senior stakeholders to understand business needs, present findings and recommendations.
