Job summary

Allume ANZ in Melbourne is hiring a Data Engineer who will turn real-world energy data from SolShare installations into reliable information for installers, residents and teams.

You’ll join a central Data & Analytics team to build data foundations for SolCentre and SolOS, owning data end-to-end with independence and collaboration with senior engineers.

This role focuses on robust pipelines, time-series data, PostgreSQL and AWS, with opportunities to shape where you go next.

Qualifications

• Solid production Python and SQL skills, ideally with time-series data.
• Experience building production data pipelines with validation and monitoring.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL, schema design and query tuning.
• Experience with AWS or another major cloud platform.
• Good software engineering habits: version control, testing, code review and deployment.

Responsibilities

• Be the go-to data engineer in product teams, turning needs into data features.
• Build and maintain data pipelines behind the SolCentre dashboard.
• Build data tools for service teams to commission installations and support sites.
• Help build data foundations for SolOS and energy management.
• Own data end-to-end from requirements to release.
• Set up health checks and alerts across the fleet.
• Ensure data quality for installers, residents, teams.
• Work with PostgreSQL, InfluxDB/Chronograf and AWS IoT Core + Timestream.
• Support company-wide data and reporting.
• Contribute to security and data governance towards ISO 27001.
• Write well-tested code and participate in design reviews.
• Take on new data projects as the team grows.
