Job summary

City of Ryde is seeking a Civil Assets Engineer to inspect, maintain and renew civil infrastructure assets across the municipality. You will work with roads, footpaths, street lighting, bridges and stormwater assets, delivering reports, coordinating maintenance and supporting project delivery.

The role blends engineering, asset management and stakeholder engagement, with flexible hybrid work, professional development and a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) recognised by Engineers Australia.
• Current NSW Driver's Licence.
• Experience with civil infrastructure assets such as roads, footpaths, street lighting, bridges, stormwater assets or similar public infrastructure.
• Knowledge of asset management principles, condition assessments and infrastructure maintenance practices.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with contractors, residents, government agencies and internal stakeholders.
• Experience preparing technical reports, specifications, estimates and project documentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and exposure to asset management systems, GIS, AutoCAD or similar engineering software.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the inspection, maintenance and renewal of Council's civil infrastructure assets.
• Investigate defects and service requests, coordinate maintenance activities and contribute to delivery of upgrade projects.
• Support contract administration, manage asset data, and prepare technical reports and recommendations.
