Job summary

The Bushfire and Emergency Management (BEM) Preparedness Officer role is embedded within the district but works with the regional team to design and implement preparedness arrangements aligned with emergency management capability requirements.

This full-time, permanent position offers hybrid work arrangements in Gippsland Region and requires eligible work rights for Australian citizens or permanent residents. Applications close 11.59pm on Thursday, 5 November 2026.

Qualifications

• Hold a current FFMVic emergency management role, or willing to work towards one.
• Demonstrated experience in emergency management, preferably with good knowledge of preparedness requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement preparedness arrangements for Emergency Management.
• Embed within the district and collaborate with the regional team to identify and manage EM capability.
• Support equitable rostering and development planning.
