Job summary
Moira Shire Council in regional Victoria is seeking an Emergency Management Coordinator to advance bushfire preparedness and community resilience across the Shire. You will coordinate education programs and act as a liaison with CFA/FRV, Parks Victoria and other agencies to strengthen community safety.
The role requires strong engagement, planning and delivery of the Community Resilience Framework and Recovery Action Plan.
Qualifications
- Experience in community engagement or development.
- Experience with emergency management or bushfire preparedness.
- Strong understanding of bushfire risk and community resilience principles.
- Excellent facilitation, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to engage diverse community audiences.
- Current driver's licence and ability to obtain Police Certificate.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and deliver bushfire preparedness and resilience programs.
- Develop community education programs and Recovery Action Plans.
- Act as liaison between community, Council, CFA/FRV and others.
- Facilitate community-led bushfire planning and emergency management plans.
- Support municipal fire prevention activities and integrate with planning.
- Build partnerships to strengthen community resilience and monitor outcomes.
- Assist in municipal fire management planning and strategy implementation.
