Job summary
Moira Shire Council in Cobram, VIC, is seeking a temporary Emergency Management role to coordinate bushfire preparedness and resilience across the municipality. You will develop community education programs, liaise with emergency services, and build partnerships to strengthen resilience.
The 18-month role ends 30 June 2028. The base office is Cobram, with above award pay rates and flexible work options including work from home.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in community engagement, education, or community development.
- Experience in emergency management, community safety, or bushfire preparedness programs.
- Strong understanding of bushfire risk and community resilience principles.
- Excellent facilitation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Current driver's licence.
- National Police Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and deliver bushfire preparedness and resilience programs across Moira Shire.
- Develop community education programs and Recovery Action Plans to increase preparedness.
- Provide link between community, Council, CFA/FRV and Parks Victoria regarding preparedness.
