Job summary

Healthcare Professionals Group is seeking a Behaviour Support Practitioner to support adolescents and adults with disability across the Central Coast and Lake Macquarie regions. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based Positive Behaviour Support services that improve daily living and community participation.

The role requires qualifications in OT, Speech Pathology, or Psychology, experience with functional behaviour assessments, and a commitment to trauma-informed

Qualifications

• Qualification as an Occupational Therapist, Speech Pathologist or Psychologist.
• Experience conducting functional behaviour assessments and developing Positive Behaviour Support Plans.
• Current driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain.
• Availability to work a minimum of three days per week.
• Experience providing clinical supervision is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Conduct functional behaviour assessments and develop individualised Positive Behaviour Support Plans.
• Support participants with complex behaviours, mental health conditions and psychosocial disabilities.
• Develop practical, trauma-informed strategies to promote independence and community participation.
• Monitor behavioural outcomes and adapt interventions to achieve progress.
• Collaborate with families, carers, support coordinators and allied health professionals.
• Provide guidance and education to support teams to ensure consistent implementation of strategies.
• Promote alternatives to restrictive practices in line with NDIS requirements.
