Job summary

Victoria Police in Melbourne is seeking an Accounts Payable Officer to join the Financial Services Department. The role supports processing and maintenance of invoices, statements, and supplier/customer enquiries, reporting to the Accounts Payable Manager within the Shared Services Branch.

The position is a fixed-term contract (01/11/2026–30/06/2028) located at Victoria Police Centre, Docklands. Hybrid arrangement: 3 days on site and 2 days from home, or 5 days on site.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounts payable or a similar finance administration role.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Strong verbal communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Process invoice transactions in accordance with organisational policies.
• Use Tungsten – AP Essentials and the Oracle financial system.
• Investigate and resolve processing issues.
• Handle mail and supporting admin tasks.
• Process expenses, petty cash, and journals.
• Respond to AP enquiries from internal and external customers.
• Communicate with suppliers on best practices.
• Collaborate with the team.
