Job summary

CSA Recruitment is representing a Sydney-based HVAC business seeking a Service Manager. The role leads a field team of technicians, coordinators, and team leaders, ensuring scheduling, dispatch, client relationships, and compliance are executed with discipline.

You will manage AFSS compliance, project and reactive work, and drive profitability through strong commercial oversight and structured processes. The role is on-site in Sydney with a strong growth trajectory.

Qualifications

• Experience building or restructuring a service department or leading change in a field service environment.
• Defining roles, implementing systems, and creating accountability frameworks.
• Proven leadership in HVAC/trades service management.
• Strong client relationship management and escalation handling.
• Commercial awareness: margins, costs, and KPIs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day service operations: scheduling, dispatch, and delivery across contracts and projects.
• Directly lead team leaders and service coordination team to consistent performance.
• Own key client relationships, manage escalations and renewals, ensure proactive communication.
• Accountable for data integrity in the field service platform and invoicing readiness.
• Drive financial performance: job costing, margins, and labor efficiency.
• Oversee AFSS obligations, inspections, licenses, and WHS across the field team.
• Scope and price reactive and project work, coordinating technicians and subcontractors.
• Provide weekly operational updates to the Director with proactive issue escalation.
