Job summary

CBRE Data Center Solutions in Sydney seeks a hands-on Facilities Technician to maintain critical infrastructure across HV/LV, UPS, PDU and cooling systems. You will monitor BMS alerts, perform preventative maintenance, and respond to incidents with safety and uptime as priorities.

You will work on a rotating 12-hour shift at a static client site, with mentoring from the platform team, ensuring CBRE policies and SOWs are followed to deliver reliable data-centre service.

Qualifications

• Must understand safety code requirements for data center services.
• Experience maintaining critical and temperature-controlled environments.
• Understanding of electrical and mechanical data center systems (feeders, transformers, UPS, etc.).
• Experience in maintenance scheduling and subcontractor supervision.
• Strong ticketing/workflow management knowledge.
• Experience managing escalations and emergencies.
• ARC License and Certificate III Electrotechnology.
• Good building services knowledge and customer relations.
• Knowledge of Permit to Work systems.
• Ability to read technical drawings.
• Experience with CMMS and BMS systems.
• Australian Citizenship and NV1 clearance may be required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure maintenance activities meet Health and Safety and uptime targets.
• Maintain response standards for asset performance and housekeeping.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on HV/LV systems and cooling equipment.
• Monitor BMS and read meters on UPS and PDU.
• Investigate faults, identify root causes, and apply remedies.
• Prepare service/incident reports in a timely manner.
• Ensure repairs comply with current regulations.
• Assist with equipment installation and asset data capture.
• Participate in on-call roster including weekends.
• Provide leadership and guidance to the team and onboard new staff.
• Maintain client relationships and ensure SLA/KPI adherence.
• Contribute to business continuity plans and CBRE policy compliance.
