Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield in Sydney seeks a Facilities Shift Engineer to support 24x7 data centre operations, ensure uptime, and manage critical facilities. You will maintain electrical and mechanical systems and interface with BMS/DCIM/CMMS while coordinating with contractors and vendors.

The role requires experience with electrical/mechanical infrastructures and strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills to drive safety and efficiency across the site.

Qualifications

• Trade license or certification in electrical or mechanical facilities.
• Preferably 3+ years supporting 24x7 data centre operations.
• Experience with switchgear, transformers, UPS, generators, PDU, cooling systems, and related controls.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Proficiency with CMMS, DCIM, and BMS, and MS Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Execute and coordinate all aspects of 24x7 data centre operations to support uptime and SLA requirements.
• Support maintenance of electrical and mechanical infrastructure per manufacturer guidelines and standards.
• Manage contractors, service providers, and vendors to ensure safe, efficient delivery of activities.
• Develop, review, implement, and audit MOPs, SOPs, EOPs, and maintenance standards with relevant systems.
• Conduct inspections and root cause investigations, reporting on site metrics and energy performance.
• Promote OH&S compliance, permit-to-work controls, and incident reporting.
