Job summary

Carrier Australia is seeking a motivated and reliable Air Conditioning Apprentice to join our team and learn from experienced HVAC technicians while completing formal TAFE studies.

You’ll gain hands-on experience with installation, servicing, maintenance, fault finding and repair of HVAC and air-conditioning systems, while developing safety, documentation and customer‑facing skills in a supportive Carrier environment.

Qualifications

• Interest in building a career in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
• Hands-on and enjoys working with tools and equipment.
• Reliable, punctual and committed to completing their apprenticeship.
• Willing to learn and take direction from experienced technicians.
• Safety-conscious and committed to doing things the right way.
• Good communicator and team player.
• Willing to travel to customer sites as required.
• Eligible to work in Australia.
• Holding a current driver’s licence, or willing to obtain one as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation, servicing and maintenance of HVAC equipment.
• Learn fault-find and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems.
• Assist with preventative maintenance and servicing.
• Support the installation and commissioning of HVAC systems.
• Learn to safely use hand and power tools.
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
• Follow Carrier’s health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
• Attend TAFE and complete all required apprenticeship training and assessments.
• Develop your technical knowledge and practical skills through hands-on experience.
• Work professionally with customers and colleagues across a range of customer sites.
