Job summary

Transgrid is expanding its Secondary Systems teams across NSW, including Wagga Wagga, and recruiting from trades through to protection professionals. You will protect high voltage assets, test relays, and contribute to metering and secondary systems development.

Training and development are provided to build broader capability. You will work with skilled teams on both modern and legacy systems, performing field work, testing and critical decision-making to ensure safe and reliable operation of

Qualifications

Certificate III in Electrotechnology or equivalent electrical trade qualification.
Foundational experience with protection systems, relays and testing.
Ability to interpret electrical schematics and diagnose in a field setting.

Responsibilities

Maintain, test and fault find protection relays and schemes, from electromechanical equipment to modern numerical relays.
Support installation and commissioning across transmission lines, transformers, reactors, busbars, circuit breaker fail schemes and other critical assets.
Develop capability across revenue, check and statistical metering, including relevant testing and documentation.
Interpret schematics, complete diagnostic testing and contribute to safe switching, isolations and protection withdrawal activities.
Work with experienced technicians, engineers and project teams to improve methods, resolve defects and deliver reliable outcomes.
