Job summary

Transgrid is seeking Substation Control and Automation Technicians across NSW, including Wagga Wagga and the broader network. You will join a small, highly skilled team responsible for onsite control systems enabling safe and reliable transmission assets.

This is a dynamic field role with frequent travel and demanding environments. You will work beyond traditional backend SCADA, leading testing, commissioning and improvements to onsite SCADA, RTUs, IEDs, PLCs and data networks, delivering

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification in control, automation or electrical discipline.
• Experience with PLCs, RTUs, IEDs and onsite SCADA systems.
• Ability to conduct commissioning, fault finding and practical site delivery.

Responsibilities

• Commission and test onsite SCADA systems, RTUs, substation controls and data networks.
• Support plant and renewable connection works including high-speed tripping schemes.
• Prepare minor designs, technical documentation and equipment specifications.
• Manage control asset replacement activities and coordinate with contractors and engineers.
• Share specialist knowledge and improve procedures during commissioning and project delivery.
