Job summary

Transgrid invites applications for Protection and Metering Technicians across New South Wales, including Newcastle and Greater Sydney locations. You will protect the high voltage network, perform field testing and analysis, and develop skills across metering and secondary systems.

We seek candidates with a strong electrical background, readiness to travel, and a commitment to safety. Detailed training and career growth are provided in a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Electrotechnology or equivalent trade qualification.
• Foundational experience with protection systems, relays, testing and commissioning.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and work in a field environment.
• Current NSW driver licence and willingness to travel across the network.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, test and fault find protection relays and schemes.
• Support installation and commissioning across lines, transformers and circuit assets.
• Develop capability across metering, testing and documentation.
• Interpret schematics and contribute to safe switching and isolation activities.
• Collaborate with technicians and engineers to improve methods and outcomes.
