Job summary

BUMA Australia is seeking experienced HV and Auto Electricians to join our Maintenance Team at Goonyella. You will service, repair and maintain mining mobile plant and equipment, helping ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently to support production targets.

Our fleet includes Komatsu, Caterpillar, Hitachi and Liebherr machinery, with opportunities to work on conventional and electric-drive systems. The role offers a 7/7 roster and career progression through training.

Qualifications

• Australian-recognised electrical trade certificate required.
• Queensland electrical licence required or an Australian-recognised auto electrical trade certificate.
• HV experience with mining mobile plant is essential.
• Experience with CAT, Komatsu, Liebherr or Hitachi mobile plant is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Fault-finding, diagnostics, preventative maintenance and repairs on mining mobile plant/equipment.
• Maintain electrical systems across a diverse fleet safely.
• Execute planned and breakdown maintenance to maximise fleet reliability.
• Record completed work in maintenance systems accurately.
• Collaborate with operations/maintenance teams to achieve production targets.

About the Role:

BUMA Australia is seeking experienced HV and Auto Electricians to join our Maintenance Team at Goonyella. You will service, repair and maintain mining mobile plant and equipment, helping ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently to support production targets. Our fleet includes Komatsu, Caterpillar, Hitachi and Liebherr machinery, with opportunities to work on conventional and electric-drive systems.

Key responsibilities include:

• Perform fault-finding, diagnostics, preventative maintenance and repairs on mining mobile plant and equipment.
• Safely maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems across a diverse fleet, including Liebherr R 9800 excavators, Komatsu and CAT trucks, and ancillary equipment.
• Execute planned and breakdown maintenance to maximise fleet reliability and availability.
• Complete maintenance activities in accordance with site safety, quality and compliance requirements.
• Accurately record completed work in maintenance management systems.
• Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to achieve production targets.

About You:

• Australian-recognised electrical trade certificate and Queensland electrical licence and/or an Australian-recognised auto electrical trade certificate.
• HV experience maintaining mining mobile plant and equipment.
• Experience with CAT, Komatsu, Liebherr or Hitachi mobile plant is highly desirable.
• Previous Queensland coal-mining experience is preferred.
• Strong fault-finding, troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• A safety-focused approach, strong attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices.

Located in the Bowen Basin of Central Queensland, BMA’s Goonyella Mine is one of Queensland’s largest coal mines, approximately 30 kilometres from Moranbah.

BUMA Australia provides labour, supervision, technical support and mobile plant to perform truck-and-excavator pre-strip operations.
