Job summary

Megavar is seeking an Electrical Designer to join our distribution design team in Hobart. You will deliver overhead and underground distribution design on TasNetworks network projects and build your skills alongside experienced designers and engineers.

This role offers flexible working arrangements across Hobart, Launceston, Adelaide or Newcastle with site visits as required. The right candidate will bring at least 2 years of electrical design experience and a degree or advanced diploma in

Qualifications

Advanced Diploma or degree in electrical engineering, or equivalent demonstrated experience designing for an Australian distribution network business.
At least 2 years' experience in electrical design of distribution networks; TasNetworks experience is highly regarded.
Proficiency in AutoCAD or AutoCAD Map.

Responsibilities

Overhead distribution design and modelling from LV (415 V) to 33 kV.
Underground distribution extensions and network upgrades.
Site inspections and survey, and preparing scoping notes and design packages for client approval.
Preparing bills of materials and design estimates.
Applying TasNetworks and local utility design standards, with a focus on cost-effective, practical solutions.
Liaising with clients, internal teams and external stakeholders through design and approval.
