Megavar is seeking a Design Manager to lead our high voltage design team across substation, transmission and renewable energy connection projects. You'll own design quality, programme and resourcing, and work with project managers and clients to deliver coordinated design packages.

This hands-on technical leadership role requires a bachelor’s in electrical or power engineering, 5+ years HV design experience, and the ability to guide teams while maintaining strong client communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or power engineering.
• At least 5 years' experience in high voltage infrastructure design: substations, transmission or distribution.
• Demonstrated experience leading design teams and managing design scopes on HV projects.
• Sound knowledge of Australian standards and network business design requirements.
• Clear communication with clients, project managers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Attention to detail and the discipline to deliver to programme.
• Chartered status (CPEng) would be an advantage.

• Overseeing design from concept through detailed design to issued-for-construction documentation, including design review, checking and verification.
• Owning design quality: design standards, review processes and continuous improvement of design practice.
• Providing technical leadership and mentoring to engineers, designers and drafters.
• Engaging with clients and network operators on design requirements, interfaces and approvals.
• Contributing technical input and design estimates to proposals.

We're looking for a Design Manager to lead our high voltage design team, coordinating primary, secondary, SCADA and distribution design delivery across substation, transmission and renewable energy connection projects.
