Megavar is seeking a Senior Substation Design Engineer to lead primary design on transmission and distribution substations and renewable energy connections. You will manage mid-sized design packages from concept to detailed design, interfacing with clients to drive technical outcomes.

You will work across Hobart, Launceston, Adelaide or Newcastle with project travel, applying Australian standards and leading design workshops with our multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or power engineering.
• 5+ years' experience in substation primary design.
• Knowledge of Australian transmission and distribution standards.
• Site experience through construction and commissioning.
• Chartered status (CPEng) would be an advantage.

Responsabilidades

• Leading HV substation primary design from concept through detailed design.
• Producing and reviewing single line diagrams, layouts, and risk checks.
• Preparing design reports and power system calculations.
• Leading design and safety workshops with clients and stakeholders.
• Managing mid-sized design projects independently.
• Site visits and surveys as required.
• Preparing proposals and design budget estimates.
• Collaborating with protection, SCADA, and commissioning teams.
