Job summary

Ausgrid is seeking an experienced electrical designer to produce detailed layout drawings for Zone and Sub Transmission Substations. You will join a multi-discipline design team supporting new substations and upgrades across Sydney and Newcastle.

Reporting to the Lead Designer, you will own elements of the design, coordinate HV drawings, and ensure safety considerations are integrated throughout the process.

Qualifications

• Post electrical trade qualifications, preferably Advanced Diploma of Engineering (Electrical) or equivalent.
• Advanced CAD skills using AutoCAD and/or Microstation, and Vault.
• Experience in the design and drafting of HV electrical substation components.
• Proven ability to complete detailed design as a team member under direction and as an individual with direct responsibility for the design.
• Familiar with Australian Standards and standard Engineering Drafting practices.
• Able to interpret design drawings from Civil, Structural and Secondary Systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and issue design solutions for construction in coordination with Primary Design Engineers.
• Develop and coordinate detailed electrical design drawings for substation HV systems.
• Minimise safety hazards in the design process.
