Job summary

Mission Australia is seeking a qualified Service Designer to lead innovative service models that improve outcomes for people experiencing challenging times. You will partner with service delivery teams and communities, co-design using human-centred design, and translate research into practical improvements.

The role focuses on scaling flagship models, supporting implementation, facilitating workshops, and building internal/external partnerships to drive innovation across Mission Australia.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline.
• Experience in service design, innovation or continuous improvement.
• Expertise in human-centred design and trauma-informed approaches.
• Ability to translate research and insights into practical solutions.
• Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop innovative service models that improve outcomes.
• Partner with service delivery teams and communities to co-design services.
• Translate research findings into practical service improvements.
• Support implementation and continuous improvement of flagship models.
• Facilitate workshops and collaborative design processes with stakeholders.
• Build organisational capability in co-design and human-centred design.
• Provide expert advice to leaders and frontline teams on design and participation.
• Develop partnerships to drive strategic initiatives across Mission Australia.
