Job summary

The Health, Safety & Wellbeing (HSW) team at the University of Sydney is seeking a Director of Systems and Enablement. This senior role sets strategic direction for HSW systems, governance, assurance, reporting and digital enablement, and partners with University Executive and Senate to embed safety across the institution.

You will lead system design, governance, and audit programs, drive continuous improvement, and manage multi-disciplinary teams through organisational change while aligning

Qualifications

• Graduate degree/ professional qualifications or equivalent experience in a WHS or related discipline.
• Extensive experience within Work Health and Safety with demonstrated knowledge of legislation and policies.
• Demonstrated leadership in developing a sustainable safety culture and practical compliance programs.
• Extensive leadership experience leading multi-disciplinary WHS professionals in large, regulated organisations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of HSW Systems and Enablement objectives and goals.
• Set and evolve operating model, service offerings, and integration across governance, assurance, and reporting.
• Oversee governance and reporting framework for HSW, and lead assurance/audit programs.
• Provide strategic direction for HSW systems and digital enablement and continuous improvement.
